How We Work

Website Projects

Developing a website is not a trivial task. In order to deliver a proper website that will provide you with the best possible solution we usually go through an extensive discussion regarding the exact needs of your website. This is usually done via email or Skype.

We prefer using email as there is then a trace of discussions and agreements that have been made. We have found that most if the issues arise from misunderstandings and assumptions on both sides. We could assume that you want something done in a certain way, and you could assume that something is included in the price. To this end we make extensive use of email discussions.

The Quote for the website

Although we have website packages with prices, each website development is different. It is seldom that we find two similar websites. Our prices are should therefore be seen as a guideline of what a website could cost.

After we have gone through the discussion phase with you, and you are happy that we have covered most of your concerns and requirements, we then generate a formal quote listing what we will deliver and the final cost involved. This gives you a chance to make sure that everything you want will be delivered for the price specified.

We guarantee that there are no hidden costs in our quotes. The only time that the costs will change is if you request additional work during the development of the website, or changes after the website has gone live which were not specified in the quote.

Starting the Website Project

Once you are happy with the quote, and have signed it, we will commence work once the 50% deposit has been paid.

Once the deposit has been paid, we will register the domain name for your website. If you are will be hosting your website with us, we will start to setup and configure your hosting space.

The Design and Development of your website

Within 7 to 10 working days, we will present you with 2 to 3 designs from which you have to chose a design for your website.

Once you have selected a design we will proceed with the development of the website. We usually allow clients to follow the progress of the site via a live link. This enables you to not only follow the progress but to also comment on issues you might pick up.

Going Live with your website

The final phase in your website project is making the website live. Once we have completed the development of the site, we will copy it to your hosting account and configure the website to make it live on the Internet. We then allow you 7 working days from the live date to test the website and notify us of any errors or omissions we might have made.

The balance of the cost of the website is due within 7 days of the website going live and if there were no errors reported by you.

Ongoing maintenance

A website requires ongoing maintenance otherwise you could have broken links, outdated software etc. It is also recommended that your website is backed up at least once a month, more if you are regularly doing updates to the website. A few of our customers are happy doing the maintenance themselves, but if you would rather hand it over to us, we have two typed of maintenance offers:

  • Hourly maintenance: you only require our service when you have an issue with the website, and we billy you for the amount of hours we took to fix the issue.
  • Retainer: we work our a monthly maintenance package for you and you pay us a monthly fee to maintain your website.
